He is winner of many awards including the James Fletcher-Watdon Memorial Awary at the RI annual show in 2019 and The Art Critic Award at the Mall Galleries, London in April 2019 with his depiction across 3 large paintings of Chatterley Whitfield Colliery in Stoke-on-Trent in watercolour and salt.

The original painting was produced in 2014 during renovation works carried out by The Princes Regeneration Trust, which saved the Victorian Pottery, making it into a world class visitor attraction. His latest work includes medium of watercolour and salt whilst exploring his Potteries roots including a series called Written in Dust which pays homage to the miners. His grandfather was a miner at the North Staffordshire mine, Chatterley Whitfield.

Geoffrey has continued to explore his roots since 2012 on suggestion of his good friend and fellow artist who live in Burslem, Ken Griffiths.
